Talladega Race Review and Analysis

  Sweet home Alabama!  The Nascar Cup Series visited Talladega Superspeedway located in Lincoln, Alabama for the Geico 500!  Ross Chastain in a wild way takes home the checkered flag!  This is Chastain’s 2nd career win and 2nd of the 2022 season.  Trackhouse Racing now has two wins on the season and continues to produce at a high level.  Chastain joins William Byron as the only drivers to have multiple wins on the season.   (Ross Chastain in Victory Lane) The way this race ended was staggering.  Coming into the trioval, a massive wreck took place sending multiple cars for a ride.  With the pay window open and everything on the line at Talladega, Ross Chastain edged out Austin Dillon and Kyle Larson for the win.  With momentum building on the bottom lane, both Chastain and Larson surged ahead of race leader Erik Jones.  Coming into the trioval Larson went high as the field fanned out coming to the checkered flag.  Larson then clipped Kurt Busch, sending him vigorously into the outside w

Bristol Dirt Race Review and Analysis

  Easter Sunday and racing from the last great colosseum!  The Nascar Cup Series hit the dirt under the lights at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Located in Bristol, Tennessee, this primetime event was a thriller.  Kyle Busch steals the race win and is now locked into the playoffs!  Chase Briscoe and Tyler Reddick both running 1st and 2nd on the final lap both spun out coming to the checkered flag.  Kyle Busch out of nowhere takes home the win in a shocker.  Kyle Busch has now tied Nascar legend Richard Petty for 18 consecutive seasons with a win.  This is Busch’s 60th career win and 1st of the 2022 season.   We now have 8 different winners in 9 different races.  (Kyle Busch Taking The Checkered Flag)   A true heartbreaker for Tyler Reddick as he was so close to his first career win.  Reddick, who has shown flashes in the last several races, was finally about to check the box of gaining a checkered flag.  Chase Briscoe went for it all in the final corner by trying to slide job his way past Re

Martinsville Race Review and Anaylsis

  For its 75th year as a race track, Nascar makes its return to Martinsville Speedway!  Located in Ridgeway, Virginia this half-mile short track put on quite the rodeo for Saturday night racing.  William Byron in a hard-fought way takes home the checkered flag. This is Byron’s 4th career win and 2nd of the 2022 season. Byron now becomes the only driver to win multiple races this season.  (William Byron taking the checkered flag) Hendrick Motorsports led the way all night long. Besides William Byron and Chase Elliott, there were two other leaders tonight. Those two were Austin Dillon and Ryan Blaney, both led under 6 laps. Elliott led the first 185 laps tonight, which hasn’t been done since Darell Waltrip in 1980 at Martinsville. Fellow teammate William Byron led 212 laps for his first career win at Martinsville.  This is Hendrick Motorsports' 74th career win in Martinsville and fourth win this season.  (William Byron in Victory Lane) Notable performances tonight came f

Richmond Race Review and Analysis

  The state of Virginia is where the Nascar Cup Series made its next stop for the 7th race this season.  Richmond Raceway, located in Richmond, Virginia put on quite the show today.  This 0.75-mile track brought new faces up front and a bunch of chaos. Denny Hamlin, the hometown Virginia native takes home the checkered flag. This is Hamlin’s 47th career win and 1st of the 2022 season. (Denny Hamlin Post Race) With 10 laps to go, Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, and Kyle Larson were all chasing leader William Byron.  Lap traffic played a huge part in the closing laps as Kyle Larson was shuffled out of contention for the win. Denny Hamlin was gaining two seconds per lap closing in on Byron.  Hamlin passed both Truex Jr. and Byron with five laps to go. Kevin Harvick closed in on Hamlin trying to make a late charge but it wasn’t enough. Harvick had a great race as he finishes 2nd. Hamlin took home the win in style, as this is his 4th career win at Richmond. (Denny Hamlin in
