Indianapolis Race Review and Analysis

Image
An interesting day in Indiana.  The Nascar Cup Series made its yearly stop at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, located in Indianapolis, Indiana.  To say the least, this was a rodeo type of Verizon 200 at the Brickyard.  In a challenging, persevering, and intriguing way, Tyler Reddick takes home the checkered flag in Indianapolis.  This is Reddick’s 2nd career win, and 2nd of the 2022 season.   (Tyler Reddick Post-Race) An interesting business decision by Ross Chastain occurred on a final overtime restart in Indianapolis.  Ross Chastain, who has been the most named driver in headlines, when it comes to controversy, involves himself in something new.  With two laps to go, and a win on the line, the field headed into the tight, Indianapolis Road Course turn 1.  Chastain, who didn’t want any part of the turn 1 beating, and banging, took another route.  Chastain took the Nascar access off-road to avoid the restart carnage.  Chastain found himself battling with Tyler Reddick for the race win.

Pocono Race Review and Analysis

The Tricky Triangle!  The Nascar Cup Series visited Pocono Raceway, located in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, for the M&M’s Fan Appreciation 400. Denny Hamlin, on an up and down day, does not take home the checkered flag after being disqualified after post-race inspection. Chase Elliott, who finished 3rd collects his 4th win of the 2022 season, and the 17th win of his career.  Chase Elliott is now the only driver with more than three wins in the 2022 season.  Elliott collects his 1st career win at Pocono Raceway, as a misfortune for would’ve been 2nd place Kyle Busch, and would’ve been today’s race winner Denny Hamlin strikes.  Let’s rewind to the beginning of today, with Kurt Busch.  What stunned the Nascar world this morning was the news that Kurt Busch would be sidelined this afternoon with concussion like symptoms after a qualifying crash.  On short notice, the 19 year-old Xfinity Series phenom Ty Gibbs was called upon to fill in for Kurt Busch.  Gibbs took the helm of the #45 car

New Hampshire Race Review and Analysis

Racing in New Hampshire!  The Nascar Cup Series visited New Hampshire Motor Speedway, located in Loudon, New Hampshire, for the Ambetter 301.  In a ground-shaking way, Christopher Bell takes home the checkered flag.  This is Christopher Bell’s 2nd career win, and first of the 2022 season.  Bell is now the 14th different winner in 20 races.  Bell jumps the playoff standings and stamps his ticket to the 2022 Nascar playoffs. (Christopher Bell Burning it down Post-Race) Entering this afternoon in New Hampshire, only three spots were left for the playoffs.  Today, Christopher Bell, at arguably his best track, takes away one of those spots.  Christopher Bell entered this weekend with an up and down stretch after leaving Atlanta Motor Speedway.  Bell’s #20 Joe Gibbs Racing machine, showed up with speed, as that paid dividends this afternoon.  The 27-year-old raced hard today, as he took the lead from Chase Elliott which was eventually for the win.  He was one of the many Toyota drivers to

Atlanta 2 Race Review and Analysis

Racing in the peach state once again!  The Nascar Cup Series visited Atlanta Motor Speedway for the second time this season.  The hometown kid, Chase Elliott takes home the checkered flag!  Elliott is the first driver to capture three wins in this 2022 season.  This is Elliott’s 15th career win, and first at Atlanta Motor Speedway. (Chase Elliott with the Checkered Flag) With two laps to go, Corey LaJoie was having a career afternoon, running inside the top ten for the majority of today’s race.   Lajoie led 19 laps, but the feel good story came to a halt, after Chase Elliott threw a massive block on LaJoie, sending him into the wall.  LaJoie crossed the line 21st, which looked like a potential race win if it weren’t for Elliott’s block.  Corey LaJoie ran a stellar race today, you don’t see this too often from Spire Motorsports.  Today, LaJoie’s team was up front, and present throughout today’s race.  The next restrictor-plate race is Daytona International Speedway for the regular-sea
