"Circuit of The Americas Race Review"

Carnage in Texas! The Nascar Cup Series visited Circuit of The Americas, for the “EchoPark Texas Grand Prix ”. Located in Austin, Texas this is a track like no other. Chase Elliott picked up the win, in a rain shortened event. This race started in dry conditions, but with the rain becoming too tough to tame it was time to call the race official with 14 laps to go. This is Chase Eillott’s 12th career win, along with his 6th on a road course. With this win, he officially locks himself into the 2021 playoffs.

Rain was huge today. With terrible weather, a track no one's raced on and terrible vision this is a recipe for disaster. Guess what, it was. Huge wrecks, terrible vision! No one was happy today. Drivers were fuming during post race interviews. Here a image of wreck from today’s race.

In my opinion today was wildly entertaining, but wildly unsafe. Nascar officials made a gutsy call to continue today’s race, but honestly the decision was head scratching. Teams put on rain tires and toughed out the weather, until the downpour became too much. To further explain rain tires, it’s basically a set of tires that give more grip. Obviously for drivers and to the track in wet conditions. These tires are only provided on road course events. So for entertainment purposes, today was great. But safety wise not much, overall today’s race was a 9 out of 10. I say this because, do not race in rain if you're going to stop the race for rain. It doesn’t make sense and it’s frustrating for everyone involded. As week 14 rolls on, the playoff standings are filling up. There are now 11 different winners in 14 different races, 5 spots left with now 12 races left. were getting to that midseason point and races are becoming crucial for certain teams.

With Memorial Day this weekend, the “Coca-Cola 600” is next. Teams will have patriotic schemes to honor fallen soldiers and people serving currently in the U.S. Military. But with the prestigious “Coca-Cola 600”, there comes some challenges. This is the longest race on the Nascar circuit, but the winner leaves with a historic trophy. Practice and Qualifying will be back this weekend, as we head to Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina. The famous “Coca-Cola 600” is Sunday, May 30th only on Fox.
