" Road America Race Review"

Road America! The Nascar CupSeries visited Road America located in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin , for the fourth of July weekend. The Nascar Cup Series hasn't raced at Road America for 65 years! Chase Eillott wins today, marking his 2nd of the season and 13th of his career. With this win, Eillott has 7 road course wins all time and moves him up to 3rd for the most all-time.

Today was interesting, Road America recorded a sellout crowd on a hot day. Temperatures were in the 90’s. Many drivers had heat exhaustion after the race. Nascar hosted Qualifying this morning and it was somewhat of a mess. Drivers were very frustrated after numerous cautions for spins. This opened the window for drivers not completing a lap and many to start in the back.

Today’s race was above Average. Not a lot happened, but that’s ok. That’s racing, not every race is going to be great. But today was alright, there were quite a few cautions, but mostly green flag racing. Personally I believe Nascar should make Road America permanet on the Cup schedule. If I gave today’s race an overall score it would be  7.5 out of 10.

The Nascar Cup Series wraps up their fourth of July weekend at Road America. It's been a good weekend of racing. The Nascar Cup Series will now head to Atlanta Motor Speedway for a second trip for the “Quaker State 400”. This is a tough, wore out surface that chews up tires. This will sure be a fun one. You can catch Nascar at Atlanta, Sunday, July, 11th 3:30 only on NBCSN.
