" Phoenix Championship Weekend Race Review"

The championship race in the desert! The Nascar Cup Series concluded the 2021 season at Phoenix Raceway, located in Avondale, Arizona for the “ Nascar Cup Series Championship at Phoenix”. Kyle Larson is your 2021 Nascar Cup Series champion! Larson with now his 10th win of the 2021 season he is now a 1st time Nascar Cup Series champion. Larson captured today’s win with a late race restart after a caution for debris, he then later on got around Martin Truex Jr. to close out today’s race for the win.

Today’s championship four consisted of Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin. Larson finished 1st, with Truex Jr. finishing 2nd, followed by Hamlin 3rd and finally Elliott 5th. Each driver had ups and downs all day long with each a shot at today’s race win. A crucial caution for a brake rotor on the racing surface decided the fate of today’s championship. This crushed Hamlin and Truex’s shot at today’s win as they were the best cars on track with long green flag runs. Following this evening, Larson’s 2021 Nascar season will go down as one of the most dominant 36 race performances of all time. Along with this accomplishment Larson now leads all of Nascar in laps led in one season. Chase Briscoe is your 2021 Nascar Sunoco Rookie of the year, congrats to him and the number 14 team.

In my opinion today’s race was excellent. Each competitor in the championship four had a shot at today’s race win. Hamlin, Elliott, Truex and Larson were all at the front throughout the entire race today. Larson with 10 points paying race wins and 1 exhibition race victory( The Nascar All Star Race at Texas), won the championship, he deserved to win today. No one collects 10 race wins in one 36 race season just like that. Larson has been dominant all season long, the five team has been the best out of all 40 teams in the Cup Series. Today was deserving and was a 9 out of 10 overall performance wise as the 2021 season concludes. Larson is now the 35th all time Nascar Cup Series Champion.

( The 2021 Nascar Camping World Truck Series Ben Rhodes)

To touch on the other Nascar national series, the Nascar Camping World Truck race was on Friday Night. Ben Rhodes is your Nascar Trucks champion, he did so with a pass on Zane Smith in the final laps to crown himself as champion. Even if you don’t win the race, whoever of the four finishes ahead of the other three is the champion, this rule is what deemed Rhodes as champion. Ben Rhodes, Zane Smith, Matt Crafton and John Hunter Nemechek all were in the championship four with a chance at the trophy. Rhodes finished 3rd, with Smith 5th, along with Nemechek 7th and then finally Crafton in 12th. With a wild Camping World Trucks season, Ben Rhodes is your Nascar Camping World Truck Series Champion.

( The 2021 Xfinity Series Champion Daniel Hemric)

The Nascar Xfinity Series race was on Saturday night with Daniel Hemric being crowned champion. This is Hemric's first career win in Nascar, this is a great way to seek your first win while competing for the championship. Hemric edged out Austin Cindric by five feet in an overtime sprint to the finish to collect Saturday night’s race win.  Daniel Hemric, Austin Cindric, Noah Gragson and A.J. Allmendinger all were in the running for the Xfinity Series championship. Hemric finished 1st, along with Cindric finishing 2nd, followed by a 12th place finish from Gragson and lastly Allmendinger 14th. Daniel Hemric wins in a thriller and is now your 2021 Xfinity Series champion!
