(The Late Coy Gibbs, 2022 Xfinity Champion Ty Gibbs, and wife to Coy, and mother to Ty, Heather Gibbs)

Early this morning, the Nascar community lost the outstanding person of Coy Gibbs.  Gibbs is the son of Joe Gibbs Racing owner Joe Gibbs, and father to Saturday crowned 2022 Nascar Xfinity Series Champion Ty Gibbs.  Coy Gibbs was the co-owner of Joe Gibbs Racing with his father Joe.  Gibbs was able to see his son, Ty Gibbs’ championship win in Phoenix on Saturday night.  The entire organization raced with heavy hearts throughout the day, as the Nascar community mourns the death of Coy Gibbs.  May he rest in peace.  In terms of his son, Ty Gibbs, a great Xfinity Series season is capped off with a Nascar Xfinity Series championship.  Gibbs has his eyes set on a Cup Series career if all things go right this offseason.  Austin Hill is the Rookie of the Year for the Nascar Xfinity Series.

(The 2022 Camping World Truck Series Champion Zane Smith)

The 2022 Camping World Truck Series Champion is Zane Smith.  Smith puts the finishing touches to a tremendous season for Front Row Motorsports.  Smith stayed consistent and was the man to beat all year long.  Smith with have races in all three national series next year, as the future is bright.  Corey Heim is the Rookie of the Year for the Camping World Truck Series.

In my opinion, this 2022 Nascar season was good.  We saw new winners, new faces up front, second-year teams come to life and a lot of action throughout all three series.  Time has flown by, as Championship weekend has now come to an end.  Taking action across all three series this 2022 season, I would rate it a 9.3 out of 10.

We’re officially in the offseason.  The 2022 season has officially come to a close.  A lot of silly season moves have been made, and a lot is still to come.  Zane Smith is the Truck Series Champion,  Ty Gibbs is the Xfinity Series Champion, and Joey Logano is the Cup Series Champion.  The offseason has begun, a few test sessions will come during the offseason period, and the L.A. Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum will be back on February 5th.  The 75th season of Nascar will be here before you know it!  From a personal standpoint, I would like to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey.  Articles will continue to come out throughout the offseason, and for the 2023 season.  So long, and happy holiday season, and happy offseason!
