" Martinsville Race Review"

Happy Halloween! With some short track racing! The Nascar Cup Series visited Martinsville Speedway located in Ridgeway, Virginia, for the “Xfinity 500”. Alex Bowman in the final laps wins in a wild sprint to the finish. Bowman with 7 laps to go in today’s race spun out Denny Hamlin for today’s race win. Leading to retaliation from Hamlin in the following cool down laps after the checkered flag, also eventually while Bowman began his celebration. This gives Bowman his 4th win of the 2021 season and 1st during the Nascar playoffs.

The round of 8 cutline. The round of 8 concluded today with four drivers advancing followed with four being eliminated. Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex, Jr all advanced after today. Kyle Busch, Brad Keslowski, Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney were all eliminated after today’s event. Larson, Elliott, Hamlin and Truex, Jr will all compete in the season finale championship four at Phoenix Raceway next Sunday.

In my opinion today was great. Hard racing, wrecks, tempers flaring all afternoon and playoff drama, today was must see TV for race fans. This was Nascar's largest crowd at Martinsville Speedway in six years dating back to 2016, which is great for the sport. Four drivers each were on one end of the stick as the season is coming down to the end. Great racing was produced and fans witnessed a great plot twist to end today’s race weekend. This was a great way to end Nascar’s 35th out of 36th race weekend and a nice way to exit Martinsville. I would give today’s action 10 out of 10.

The championship race in the desert! The Nascar Cup Series is down to it’s final race, at Phoenix Raceway. Located in Avondale, Arizona this track will decide who is the 2021 Nascar Cup Series champion. This will be a long evening race on the west coast, each three Nascar national series will compete and crown a champion. The Nascar Trucks Series on Friday night, followed by the Xfinity Series on Saturday evening and finally the Nascar Cup Series on Sunday afternoon. Will it be Larson, Hamlin, Eliott or Truex, Jr taking home the trophy on Sunday? Practice and Qualifying will be back since it is the championship weekend, it will take place on Friday and Saturday. We will see who is crowned in the desert at Phoenix Raceway for the “Nascar Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix”. Once again happy Halloween!
